Learning English with self-study websites part two

IH London teacher Caroline's Study Skills class have been looking at the best website for English self-study. Their latest reviews are about TED.

Have you ever heard about TED? I never hesitate for choosing TED.com as the best English learning website.  This website is for everybody who uses English as a mother tongue or a second language. It is a non-profit website which spreads information about every sort of subject.

This website is organised very well, anyone who from a child to older people can learn how to use this website. People can use it for developing their English levels. Frankly speaking, it is so amazing when you pop it up on the monitor. There are thousands (or more than that) clips on the website about not only technologies but also entertainment. In addition, there is a script for every single clip. You can find something, in just one click, of what you are interested in. How amazing is that! If you are a person who studies English at the moment, it can be a perfect partner for you. You can develop your listening skills on this webpage, also you an reply your opinions and discuss with other people. During my study, I use this website; my English has improved, especially in listening ways, I also learned a lot of new vocabulary. It meets my expectations every time I visit. I have no doubt about using this website for improving your English.

TED.com

This site is about sharing ideas from different aspects of our lives, bringing them to life.

It is for individuals who want to share their ideas, knowledge with a community of talented designers, entertainers and engineers.

The positive aspects are the wide spreading of new knowledge and ideas, which are aimed to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. The only negative aspect I have discovered is the structure of hte site. In the sea of information it is rathering impossible to find a topic or idea you need quickly. So for better understanding I will spend some more time to understand it better. I guess this site will be useful for me in terms of gaining additional knowledge about performing things around me. As I said before, the site needs to be restructured in a clearer way, also some links are not working.
It's certainly quite an interesting site with plenty of updated information. I generally would say it meets my criteria.
