The origin of the CELTA at IH London
IH London's original training course was the basis for the Royal Society of Arts/University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate qualification in the teaching of English as a foreign language to adults. More recently, this became the Cambridge CELTA or Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, which is the most recognised ELT qualification worldwide.

From 1962 to 2012
To mark this special anniversary, IH London is planning a series of events throughout 2012, including a lecture series on present and future developments in the profession.
To accompany the events we'll be updating the blog with stories, photos and more from the past 50 years as well as some of our thoughts about what's coming next.
We hope you will be part of our anniversary year!
